Mammals of Lake Nakuru National Park
For 2 years, I lived 15minutes away from one of the gates of the park and tried to go at least once a week. Although Lake Nakuru is renowned for its flamingoes, the mammal list is very impressive too. The predators include lions, leopards, spotted and striped hyenas and jackals. The Park is a breeding sanctuary for the endangered black and white rhinos as well as for Rothschield giraffes. You can see a minimum of 15 mammal species in an average game drive in the park, providing plenty of photo opportunities. Going very regularly allowed me to get into the lives of very territorial animals such as lions and black rhinos.
