Wood Pigeon

The wild bird life in zoos is usually very good as the birds often steal the food for the more exotic residents. As they are quite used to see people around, you can usually approach them closer. I took this picture on a very dull November day at Twycross zoo. On that day, I took more pictures of the wild birds than of the animals in the enclosures.
I liked the contrast of colours as the pigeon os a dull grey surrounded by warmer colours.
