I was very happy to start boat safaris again when we went on a family trip to the Kinabatangan river in Sabah, Northern Borneo. I had fantastic memories in Liwonde national park in Malawi. Borneo was different. We saw 6 species of primates in 2 days but there were far fewer birds than in Africa. What I like in this picture is the contrast of colours between the mother and her baby. It was also very hard to shoot as we were low on the water, the monkeys were up in the trees and the sky was always dull grey.
J’étais très heureux de repartir en safari en bateau quand nous sommes partis en vacances en famille sur la rivière Kinabatangan, à Sabah, au Nord de Bornéo. J’ai d’excellents souvenirs du parc National de Liwonde au Malawi. Bornéo est très different. Nous avons vu 6 espèces de primates en 2 jours mais il y avait beaucoup moins d’oiseaux qu’en Afrique. Ce que j’aime dans cette photo, c’est le contraste de couleurs entre la mère et son bébé. C’était aussi très difficile de prendre de bonnes photos car nous étions au ras de l’eau, les primates hauts dans les arbres et le ciel était toujours gris.
