Pied Kingfisher Juggling

On a boat ride on Lake Naivasha, you can usually see several species of kingfishers. The pied kingfisher is by far the most common and the most placid, when it comes to posing in front of cameras. I saw this one dive for a fish and fly away with its prize. I tried to follow him with my camera and took the shot as it threw the fish in the air in order to get a better grip.

Nikon D700, Sigma 150-500mm OS at 500mm, F 6.3, 1/1250s, ISO 500, Gitzo monopod.
