Fruit Bat and Baby

Our balcony in Alexandria faces a garden with trees. Once a year, these trees produce little berries and fruit bats come in their hundreds to feed over a two/three week period. I spent some time on the balcony at night with my diving torch to track the bats and focus before taking pictures. I was amazed to see the babies clinging on to their mum in flight!

Nikon D700, Sigma 150-500mm OS at 450mm, F5.6, 1/60s, ISO 800, Nikon SB800 flashgun on TTL, handheld.
