Refection of a Pied Kingfisher
On an early morning walking safari in Liwonde National Park, I was checking the open plain just South of the Camp, looking for snakes in the termite mounts when I came across this Kingfisher perched on a branch.
As it was early, there was no breeze and the surface of the stream was like a mirror. McLoud, my guide let me advance on my own, trying to get as close as possible without disturbing the bird. When I had the shot I wanted in the view finder, I used my monopod to balance my 500mm lens and used high ISO on my D700 Nikon camera to make sure I got a sharp picture.
